A higher iodine value isn't always better, but good activated carbon certainly doesn't have a low value.


The iodine value of activated carbon is like its "appetite"—the higher the value, the denser the micropores, and the stronger its ability to trap small molecule pollutants. High-quality water treatment activated carbon typically has an iodine value ≥1000 mg/g.
