The Adsorption Principle of Activated Carbon

 Activated carbon adsorption primarily relies on physical processes, namely van der Waals forces. Impurity molecules in gases or liquids are trapped as they flow through the pores of activated carbon. For certain specific pollutants, chemical modification can introduce a chemisorption mechanism to improve selective adsorption capacity.
