For water purification applications, choose either granular activated carbon or sintered activated carbon filter cartridges. Granular activated carbon is commonly used for pre-filtration to adsorb residual chlorine and organic matter; sintered activated carbon filter cartridges, due to their dense structure, effectively filter suspended particles. Reverse osmosis water purification systems typically use post-activated carbon to improve taste, requiring the use of food-grade coconut shell activated carbon.
