What is activated carbon?
Activated carbon is a porous adsorbent made from carbonaceous materials such as coconut shells and coal through high-temperature activation. It has a highly developed internal pore structure; one gram of activated carbon can have a specific surface area of up to 1000 square meters, equivalent to the size of a tennis court. This structure effectively adsorbs impurities in water and odors in the air.
